Well recently a hacker group has attacked Xbox Live, PSN, and Steam. The group known as Lizard Squad

was asked why they were doing this they gave the simple answer of  "because we can". The attacks were

used to take down the first two aforementioned sites and attack 2 million Steam users. As of this point no

one really knows who they are and why they really are doing this. Only time will tell if these people get

caught.

Starcraft II is an amazing game by Blizzard Entertainment. The only problem is that their are cheaters and this is a really big problem. One common hack is called the ValiantChaos MapHack and Blizzard is taking a stand against this in a big way. Blizzard is suing the makers of this common Starcraft hack on the base that it ruins the game for everyone. Several times competitions in Starcraft have been ruined by this map hack. This is also a big deal because it is a copyright infringement because they are using Blizzards work without their permission and this also violates the games terms of use which could mean imprisonment foe the violators. I would also like to say in my last post i called Starcraft a MMO and it is not. Sorry about that.

So in digging around for news on E-Sports in general i really couldn't find much. So i went to a different search topic: Starcraft, Blizzard's massive MMO. The MMO is a game of international fame and it also allows people who play it professionally to apply for a athlete visa. This is in the case for Starcraft gamer Kim Dong-hwan. He is only 23 years old and he is now in America on an athlete visa. This South Korean came to the U.S. three times for the Starcraft tournaments but wants to base himself here so that he can advance himself in the gaming industry. The young man goes by the name of Violet is, also on of the millions of online gamers who are in or from, South Korea. The five year visa that kim is here on is one that allows him to be considered among the athletes that travel here for things like baseball or football. The funny thing is that he only applied for the visa after being denied a student visa 3 times. Good job America.

So after looking at my last post I saw that I said their would be several games on the list and then realized there were only two games on that list and I'll fix this now with two more E sports giants that are no longer in the circuit today. So first (or third if you are counting from the last list) on the list is the first game to introduce an announcer to state your killing skills with cries of MONSTER KILL. This is UNREAL TOURNAMENT, a game that was the Halo of its time. This game had it all an amazing announcer and amazing maps that could be a snipers heaven. The game had some big heroes in its day including Fatal1ty, Christian “GitzZz” Hock, and an early Fnatic member, Laurens Pluymaekers. The saddest thing about this game is that it was lost to Call Of Duty, their is however a chance of this amazing game coming back ant taking back it's name as the biggest FPS in the world. Next on the list is the game that has recently been rebooted somewhat to contend with none other than CoD. This is none other than Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Vegas. A standout for its time is that it was a strategy game and not a game like CoD where you run in and hope to hit something. From 2007 to 2009 this game reigned supreme in the tournament circuit and it's new reboot shows great potential for knocking CoD off it's stand as top cat. Well thanks again for your time and i'll see you next week.

In The World of E-sports there were several giants that have fallen to their knees over the course of its time as an official sport. In fact several of these were probably games some of the older readers will know. Several of these games were some of my favorites and still are to this day. Our first game that had gone down for the count is PAINKILLER. This game was a gruesome Quake like game rose to its place in history by what could be called an accident. It was Put up for the Cyber athlete competition when UNREAL TOURNAMENT, another game on this list, was dropped for administrative reasons. This game had some of the best graphics of it's time. However, this was before the world of graphics were rocked to the core by Epic's groundbreaking, and a personal favorite of mine, GEARS OF WAR. This game was amazing because it had a Havok 2.0 graphics engine and this giant was sadly brought down by Call Of Duty. Our next giant and one that i always enjoyed is Warhammer 40K: Dawn Of War. this game gave the RTS titan STARCRAFT a run for the #1 spot in the world for RTS. This game was amazing because it gave us the ability the Games workshop table top version gave us, the ability to control moral among the soldiers. This game sadly died with the arrival of Starcraft 2. Thanks for your time and this is just some of what you can expect when I get this blog rolling https://docs.google.com/document/d/131a4uJvsU49p15RIeVLMy5f8iABso5m9dsHnwki8QHI/edit
