Starcraft II is an amazing game by Blizzard Entertainment. The only problem is that their are cheaters and this is a really big problem. One common hack is called the ValiantChaos MapHack and Blizzard is taking a stand against this in a big way. Blizzard is suing the makers of this common Starcraft hack on the base that it ruins the game for everyone. Several times competitions in Starcraft have been ruined by this map hack. This is also a big deal because it is a copyright infringement because they are using Blizzards work without their permission and this also violates the games terms of use which could mean imprisonment foe the violators. I would also like to say in my last post i called Starcraft a MMO and it is not. Sorry about that.

  1. Hacks ruin the feel for games. They take away the affect people want from a game. I think that it is not even the same game with hacks. But, on the other hand, some "mods", not really hacks though, are pretty fun. Hacking people on the other hand, is not. If I was hacked, I would be very upset. There should be a permanent system that can detect hacks and put a stop to them.

  2. I can't stand it when people hack multiplayer games like that and I'm kind of glad that Blizzard is getting back at these guys. For an extremely competitive game like starcraft these hacks are a lot worse than regular games because of some of the seriousness that comes with such competition. I'm its a good thing that Blizzard is stopping the creators, but unfortunately they will always have to deal with people like these.
